Lisa Grotherus is a professional musician and composer. The clarinet and the bass clarinet are her main instruments, she also plays flute, tenor saxophone and performs as a vocalist. As a composer, Lisa writes music for her own bands and for theatre, radio and film. Having started out in the jazz scene, Lisa plays pop, folk and world music in several Swedish and European bands. As a theatre musician, Lisa has extensive experience of working in the performing arts.
Lisa has received a number of prizes and awards, including the SKAP Jazz Prize 2019. Between 2019-2022 she was the vice president and a member of the think tank Unga Tankar Om Musik (UTOM). She has also had a residence at Transit, a site and a collaboration partner for freelance artists, 2018-2022.

Lisa’s debut album Dekontee is out now! Dekontee was selected best Swedish jazz album of the year by the music magazine Lira and one of the ten best albums of the year, all categories, by the Gothenburg Post. Read more about the album in Orkesterjournalen here!
